afterimage: Available January 13, 2020
On Friday, January 17, 2020 the String Orchestra of Brooklyn will release our debut album, afterimage, featuring music by Chris Cerrone and Jacob Cooper, and guest artists the Argus Quartet and soprano Mellissa Hughes and mezzo-soprano Kate Maroney. The album will be released on the Furious Artisans label and will be widely available for purchase and streaming on multiple platforms.
The New Yorker writes: “The String Orchestra of Brooklyn, an enterprising ensemble that consistently enriches the city’s artistic landscape, heralds the arrival of its long-overdue début studio recording. The shrewdly assembled album, “afterimage,” includes brief works by Paganini and Pergolesi that provide the germinal material for substantial new offerings by Christopher Cerrone…and Jacob Cooper.”
